How to Clean Your Candle Jars Using Hot Water

Candle jars don’t just hold your favorite fragrances, they can also be reused in creative ways once the wax is gone. Instead of throwing them away, you can easily clean and repurpose your jars with a simple hot water method. Not only is this process quick and eco-friendly, but it also gives your jars a new life as storage containers for snacks, candies, or even small essentials.

Step 1: Pour Hot Water

Start by carefully pouring hot (not boiling) water into the candle jar. The heat helps loosen the leftover wax, making it easier to remove. Allow it to sit for a few minutes.

Step 2: Pop Out the Leftover Wax

Once the wax softens and rises to the surface, gently pop it out of the jar. You’ll notice how effortlessly the leftover wax comes away.

Step 3: Wash with Soap

Add a few drops of dish soap and wash the jar thoroughly with warm water. This removes any residue, leaving the jar fresh, clean, and ready for reuse.

Repurpose Your Jars

Once clean, your candle jars can be transformed into stylish and functional items:

  • 🍪 Snack containers – Perfect for storing cookies, nuts, or dry fruits.

  • 🍬 Candy jars – Add a sweet touch to your kitchen or desk.

  • 🌱 Mini planters – Great for small succulents or herbs.

  • 🖊️ Desk organizers – Hold pens, clips, or stationery neatly.

By reusing your candle jars, you’re not only reducing waste but also adding a creative and sustainable touch to your home.
